AGMD
Being a parent of a child with a motility disease or disorder can be extremely difficult. It can be heart-wrenching to watch your child be ill and not be able to not make him or her better. It is an emotional rollercoaster as a parent deals with finding a doctor, a diagnosis, treatment, taking care of the ill child, all the while taking care of his or her other children and family responsibilities.
Children can be born with a digestive motility disease or disorder or acquire later in childhood or as an adult. Feeding issues, nutrition, hospitalization, surgeries, pain and discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, bathroom issues, and school problems are just some of the challenges that can be present.
Because of the special concerns and problems associated with pediatric patients and their families, AGMD has developed an outreach program dedicated to fulfilling their needs.
